Reborn within the grounds of the former Rota Printing House is a building, built in 1920, with twenty-one apartments, ranging from 106 to 174m2. Space for three commercial premises has been allocated on the first floor of the building. The project’s task and motto were ‘’design and quality’’, linking historical heritage to contemporary high quality materials. The architectural restoration of the building has resulted in the successful restoration of the elegant historical facade.
The building is divided into two corpuses, restoring one of them and creating an additional volume for the other through the construction of another floor. The historical masonry has been restored during restoration. In order to create accessibility compatible with modern requirements, lifts have been built that are integrated into glass shafts. A particularly special element in the building’s appearance is a small water tower that has been preserved and restored with great care.
In order to make every apartment in the historical building unique, an interior design project has been created for each with an individual plan and finish. The interior of the apartments is characterised by oak floors and doors, wooden windows, distinctive tiling, as well as quality plumbing and Italian kitchen fittings. Each apartment has its own individually designed tiles, enhancing the individual appearance of each. Some of the apartments contain fireplaces and there was an opportunity to create terraces, which are a rarity in the city centre. Neoklasika’s team of architects, interior designers and project managers completed a full volume of design author’s supervision jobs, as well as performing the finishing to the apartments in full.
