Eclectic Interior Design in an Extraordinary Artistic Family Home
At Neoklasika, we had an incredibly creative process and true collaboration with our valued clients in designing a modern and artistic eclectic family home in a historical Art Nouveau Berlin apartment. Our skilled team considered the needs of each family member to design a functional and unique living space filled with art. The client’s passion for art and creativity reflects in each room – we created a unique layered canvas where art and interior can interact and be perceived. Our holistic approach focused on designing a functional space with elements that create a backbone for the living space, allowing for further layering with rich textures, patterns, and bold colours. The result is an eclectic mix of artifacts, and styles masterfully balanced in proportion and colour.
Artistic Entryway with Functional Design
The core and the key to the apartment is the front entryway, where the original doors with Art Nouveau wood decors and stained-glass inlays welcome upon entering. This space is highly functional, leading to the living room, kitchen, home office, children’s bedrooms, and guest bathroom. The artistic hallway incorporates a large ghost wardrobe – the mirrored doors make this modern piece almost invisible. Smaller storage elements provide comfort and functionality while giving all the spotlight to the bold colour combinations and art, enhancing the eclectic modern interior design.
Art-filled Living Spaces
The living room and kitchen are joined by a large sliding door, and they function as one united space most of the time. We sought to find elements that seamlessly combine these two spaces. The large standout wall mural with floral Art Nouveau motifs beautifully flows between both spaces and acts as a platform to exhibit artworks. We designed the space to accommodate a lot of seating and lounging spaces for family having guests. The large kitchen dining table can be extended to welcome a larger number of guests, catering to their lifestyle.
Inspiring Home Study with Eclectic Touch
The home study provides an energizing space for work and inspiration. The bold colours and eclectic approach to furniture selection have created a unique environment. Combining Art Nouveau ceiling painted in bold red and classical Murano chandelier with a turquoise neo-classical library and modernized Art Nouveau style desk brings a touch of elegance and character. The rest of the furniture is contemporary, playing an excellent supporting role in the symphony of this unique interior design.
Home Art Gallery Hallway
The hallway to the bedrooms serves as a home art gallery. The long and narrow hallway is organised with bold teal and turquoise paint sections and, together with the rainbow rug, invites guests to follow the gallery walls leading to the bedrooms. This creative use of colours and design elements enhances the eclectic interior design, creating a vibrant and engaging space.
Tranquil Victorian Master Bedroom
The eclectic master bedroom calms with its green colour palette and beautiful headboard mural of a Victorian greenhouse. The solid wood furniture and flooring create a luxurious combination, blending perfectly with the masterfully restored historical sofa and crystal chandelier. This master bedroom serves as a true home sanctuary to relax and regain peace in the midst of the bustling city.
Inspiring Kids' Bedrooms for Creative Growth
The children’s bedrooms were designed with careful consideration of functionality and each little client’s personal requirements. We planned spaces that inspire and provide room for creativity and personal growth. The colourful kids’ bedrooms are ergonomic and filled with biophilic elements – shapes, textures, and lighting elements that connect with nature and increase wellbeing. Combining artistic wallpapers with areas for self-expression, such as whiteboards, pinboards, and large desktops, sparks imagination and creativity in the young minds.
